UnoBand is a musical ensemble integrated by Arturo Rondon (lead vocalist, electric guitar, songwriter) and Pedro Acosta (bass guitar, lead electric guitar, manager). Arturo and Pedro met in Calgary, Canada, when their families immigrated from Venezuela, and started playing music together at friend’s gatherings. Their first public performance happened in 2010, during a fundraising to support breast cancer awareness and treatment. Although within the pop genre, the music of UnoBand is a fusion of rhythms, largely influenced by reggae and ska, and enriched with Latin beats. UnoBand has been part of the musical and entertainment life of Calgary for several years, performing at gigs held in popular venues, like the Ironwood Stage, Nite Owl, Blind Beggar among others; and participating in numerous festivals, such as Calgary International ReggaeFest, Fiestaval, Afrikadey, Venezuelan Culture Days, ExpoLatino, and Lilac Festival. It has been mentioned by local press and interviewed in radio programs. In 2017, UnoBand received the Telus STORYHIVE funding for a video production in 2017.
With the release of its first album, Todo es Arte, UnoBand takes the next step in the duo’s musical career.

UnoBand’s debut album features songs by Arturo Rondon. ”Todo es Arte” was produced by Latin Grammy Winner producer Jean Sanchez and music icon Sammy Rodriguez at the prestigious AudioPlace Studios in Venezuela. The album shows a fusion of Latin and Caribbean rhythms with reggae ska and other world music genres.
